Sc4003 Knowledge based value systems

(3-0-12) Requirements: NT Equivalence: NT

This course helps to understand the value function of knowledge systems in human societies and to define a knowledge management strategy for nowadays organizations. It begins with an historic view of knowledge systems as, the origins, evolutions and perspectives of the Knowledge Management movement. After reviewing the productive systems evolution and the economical behavior of knowledge, the concept "Knowledge Based Value Systems" is built. Elements from Value Theory and Measure Theory let us asses the inherited vision of Intellectual Capital. After comparing different exiting models, its range and limitations are drifted. This led us to make the specifications of a System of Capitals, reviewing the product - supplies model and the "Capital Periodic Table". The instrumentation of the System of Capitals in an Integral Report of Value and a System of Indicators is the basis of the development strategy of the knowledge based organization.
