In this course the students will reinforce and increase their skills and knowledge related to basic and complex structures of the language.  The students will be able to apply this knowledge in the processes of reading, writing, and oral communication.  They will be capable of writing argumentative texts, distinguish the different types of text by their elements, and will identify the components of literary genres and their characteristics.  They will increase their capacity for analysis and synthesis, awakening their sensibility toward the artistic and human side of literature.

 

The spelling practice, inherent to the use of the language, will be considered parallel to the development of the course as a maintenance and reinforcement activity.

1.       Strategies for extending vocabulary.

2.       Non-literary texts.

3.       Scientific texts: educational, expository, reference.

4.       Journalistic texts: news, article, and editorial.

5.       Argumentation of ideas.

6.       Literary genres.

7.       Forms: narration, description, and dialogue.

8.       Genres: lyric, narrative, and dramatic.

9.       Internal and external structure of the literary work.

10.   Poetic language: rhetorical figures.
