GENERAL GOAL
The students will be able to adapt
to the work culture of the Tec System, by being informed about it, which will
facilitate their academic development and their independence at the TEC High
school, through the guidance and help of trained teachers, family support, and
extra-curricular activities.

As part of the general goal of this
course, the students will be able to:
Become conscious of the
responsibility they have to maintain an optimal quality of life, through
self-evaluation, analysis and permanent reflection; to maintain a balance
between the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social dimensions in their
private lives.
This course has as an essential goal
the creation of consciousness that the optimal quality of life of a person is
obtained through the development of the ability to reach an integral balance in
health, taking into consideration the four dimensions which are present in the
development of the human being: intellectual, physical, emotional, and social.
The topics delve into each of the four
dimensions, and to their interrelation.
To support the beginning of the
students´ academic life in the Tec High School, a 1st module was
included: “You and the Tec High School”.
This module includes an analysis and reflexion on the different rules of
this institution; also there is a practical review of the general rules on
Collaborative Learning, which is one of the learning techniques of the new
educational model of the ITESM.

a) Abilities:
1. Develop the students´ creativity as an important tool of thinking, which
will help them stimulate flexibility, originality, fluency, and mental
elaboration.
2. Provide the basic knowledge on the subject of creativity, so they can
value the importance this topic has today.
3. Develop their capacity to solve problems of daily life in a creative and
more effective way, as a result of decision-making and conscious and reflective
planning.
4. Provide the semantic and proceedural knowledge necessary for them to be
capable of creating a new product.
5. Develop in the students the abilities related to teamwork, decision
making and problem solving.
b) Attitudes:
1. Promote in the students a positive attitude toward the development of
creativity.
2. Motivate the students to consider many alternatives and evaluate each
one of them before taking action.
3. Promote a positive attitude toward flexibility and tolerance of other
people’s ideas.
4. Propitiate an open and optimistic attitude toward change, provided it is
for the better.

At the beginning of course the
students will learn the basis of creativity to understand what it consists of,
how it is developed, how it can be inhibited, the ways in which it is
expressed, applied, developed, and the importance creativity has in their
lives.
In a second stage, the student will
develop through the systematic, conscious, and directed practice, the four
skills related to creativity according to J.P. Guilford: a) Fluency b)
Flexibility c) Originality and d) Elaboration.
These four skills,
working together, will give students a) the sensibility to identify a situation
that can be improved, b) the capacity to produce an original and useful idea
that makes this situation better c) The ability to develop this idea and put it
into practice.
In a third stage,
students will learn different techniques to activate the creative process whose
purpose is to identify objects or situations that can be improved and propose
creative solutions.
In the next stage, students will
learn some strategies that will give them the necessary tools to transform a
creative idea into a tangible product working in a team. This procedure is known as CREATEC. At the end of the course, each group must
produce its own invention and show it to the class as a result of the development
of their creativity. Finally, in the
last stage of the course, students will apply an internal and external
evaluation process to identify aspects of the design that could be better and
proceed to make the necessary corrections.

course, students will be able to:
Achieve a higher comprehension of
themselves and their surroundings, through the analysis of the physical ,
intellectual, emotional, and social aspects of the person.
Develop meaningful learning through
the knowledge and application of different study techniques.
Understand the real significance of
sexuality as a primary axis in the harmonic development of the human being,
valuating the importance decision-making has in this aspect.
Become aware of the importance of a
culture of prevention in the use of addictive substances, through recognizing
the diverse protection factors and the risk involved.
Learn about the different types of
stress and their effects on overall health, by knowing oneself and applying
diverse techniques.
Become aware of the importance of
personal development in healthy interpersonal relationships.
Know the strategies to solve
conflicts as a way to maintain an adequate social interaction, through the
analysis of real situations that facilitate the transference of knowledge.
Develop the ability to make
decisions, a spirit of personal improvement, and the practice of respect and

The main axis of this course is
decision making, from which the four health dimensions branch out; thus a
relationship is established between topics within each of the dimensions and
the interrelation of these dimensions.
